My Baby Boy is Three

Today is Noah's THIRD birthday! I can hardly believe I've had him for three years - and that's I've only had him for three years. Does that make any sense? I have some cute pictures from the little pizza and cupcakes party we had for him, but I'll have to post them next week when I'm back home and can download them. Noah was so cute as he opened presents and exclaimed, "Thank you so much, everybody!" Oh, and tonight when he was playing with a new toy and his little cousin Alex tried to play with it Noah said, "Ax-lex, it's my birthday!" Apparantly sharing does not apply to birthday boys. Noah will be getting two birthdays this year as we will celebrate again with Ben when we get home.

Anyway, these past three years with my little boy have been amazing and fun and challenging and wonderful and sweet. And on and on. I love him so much it's absurd. I feel badly sometimes because he's my first and I don't know what the heck I'm doing. I'm afraid sometimes that I'm doing it wrong. Or that when I make a mistake it will somehow affect him till the end of time. (Although, I just read The Nanny Diaries and it made me feel like the best freaking mom ever. Man, that's a sad book).

Anywho, to my Birthday Boy. I'm so forever grateful and happy that you came to join our family three years ago. I thank God for you every single day. You are so sweet and happy and smart and funny and I feel so lucky that you are my son. Thank you for being my baby (and for promising this morning that you always will be). Thank you for being patient with me while I figure this mommy-thing out. I love you so much. Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Noah!!!

And I am so there with you on being totally clueless with the first. I'm the oldest in my family and my dad always joked that first children are like waffles....you always screw up on the first. But hey, at least we try not to!

But aside from that I think you are an amazing mom! I've seen you in action!

I think 1st children must come with an extra layer of skin, so that the parents have some room to figure things out. Happy Birthday to your 3 yr. old.
