I'm very lucky that some really good friends of ours from Chicago now live in California, just 15 minutes from my parents. They moved out there to open a DELICIOUS sandwich shop in San Francisco -
The Toaster Oven (the best sandwiches you'll ever have - so if you live in the Bay Area, get yourself down there pronto!). Anyway, so now when I go there to visit my family I get to see Mitch and Libby too. We saw them a few times while we were there (including one night for dinner, which inspired
this post - sorry guys, thanks for dinner and for putting up with us!). One day the boys and I met Libby and her two boys (Sam and Nate) at the Oakland Zoo. We had a great time. Here are several pictures from the day.

Sounds like you had a great time in CA. Aren't those home visit just the best?
Max and I need to go to the zoo. Apparently he is the only one that hasn't gone yet. blah.
Is it expensive to go to the zoo?
Depends. Our zoo in Chicago was free (and it was AWESOME too) but I think it's one of the only free zoos left. My friend had a free pass for me to use at the Oakland Zoo so I don't know how much it is normally. Sorry, I'm being absolutely no help. I do know a lot of people who get family year-long memberships to the zoo and think it's totally worth it. Oh, and I think that kids under age 2 or 3 are usually free so you would only have to pay for yourself, not for Max.
By the way, Tiff, I was laughing so hard at your "i poop in the bathtub" t-shirt idea. I'm sure it would totally sell.
