Mary's Lullaby
Tonight I went to a Christmas get-together for the women at my church. We had a brief program and then a light dinner and desserts. For the program portion, I sang a song called Mary's Lullaby (Sam was my prop). When I was practicing it at home earlier I asked Noah if he thought it sounded okay and he said "Yeah. I love that song." Sweetheart. Anyway, unfortunately I think the practice went a little better than the performance. I hate when that happens. Sam was a little bit fussy since it was his bedtime. Fussy for Sam isn't too bad, but I did have to switch positions with him a couple of times while I was singing so I don't feel like my voice was completely stable. Then on the second verse I totally started getting all teary and choked up. Holding my own precious baby boy while I was singing that song was just too much! I guess if I ever perform it again I'll use a doll for my prop. Or just not think about the words too much. :)

I didn't even know you were a singer. I'm the worst! Doug literally hides the hymn book from me. That is so great you were able to do that. What a wonderful talent to have. By the way, you need to teach me how to change my header. I guess we can discuss it over a little Vonage!
Your song was gorgeous last night! It went beautifully. Thanks for giving me something to do in the middle of the night...I've been up since 2:30!
that last post was from me, Joy!
I didn't know about your talented vocal chords either!I do love that song too, Noah. I would have totally lost it in the audience watching a mother sing that song while holding a baby. I am sure it was a mazing tand the fact that you chocked up made it that much more...
like all my typos in that last post? yeah, I'm a teacher.
Amy, you are so talented! Don't ever be frustrated by showing your emotions! I think that makes the performance even more special. I can't imagine singing and holding my own baby and getting through that beautiful song without tearing up a bit! You're the best!
That song always, ALWAYS gets me!
